16 days ago I sent you a message (below) asking if you were able to help in a community project in some small way....
Now is the time, with the weather looking good for the next month or so, I am wanting to organise a working bee for the weekends of Saturday 28th October and Sunday 29th October 2017 and/or Saturday 4th November and Sunday 5th November 2017.
Reasoning behind 2 weekends is so if your not available one weekend you can come on another, and I'd like to get it completed by Show Week; Monday 13th November to Friday 17th November.
Little background.
It is to help out the owners of the Augingly Motels; www.audinglymotel.co.nz......
at 609 Cashel St; who are both in their 80's John and Joan, they are a local business in Linwood, operating for over 45 years and they have owned the business for 25 years.
They have extensive gardens onsite and they've just had their EQ work done and the gardens have been let go, and its a little too much for John to get sorted on his own.
They were kind enough to have us stay there during a tough time in our lives and I want to just do something small for them, I will put on a BBQ lunch on the Saturday and hopefully I'll be able to get some bark and other things needed donated.
It will mean they'll be able to promote themselves more, and it will look more attractive to go and stay there;
They are a local small business; who do help out others in their community, I think it would be a wonderful thing to do with our community. We need a lot of volunteers to do the gardening, the more we have the easier and quicker it is to get done.
Garden size is average, its just over one side of the property.
Rose Garden, and and area to tidy up
If you can help, or know others who might, please get in touch as soon as possible.
Firstly with what day suits best, and what you can do?
I am able to be contacted on email or on cell 0275055811 anytime
Hear back from you soon

Hi Neighbours,
Hope you are all doing well?
In case you haven’t noticed… Neighbourly is about to reach half a million members! As your local Lead, I wanted to thank you for being part of our site. Having you here helps with Neighbourly’s mission to create stronger and safer communities across our community. The Neighbourly Team has let me know our suburbs is being considered for the chance to win a slice of $1000 for a community gathering. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to connect as neighbours and come up with a way to celebrate being part of Neighbourly.
I'd like to organise a community get-together where we can use this money to help a family out in our community of Linwood, we can have a community BBQ and a community Working Bee to help this family out.
This family owns a business in Linwood, and have been through a lot since the earthquakes, they almost have not survived, recently during their EQC repairs they were robbed, things were taken out of the containers, and they've taken a big hit, They help a lot of our vulnerable in the local community, so I thought it would be nice to give back to them, just with a little working bee to help get their gardens and grounds of their property here in Linwood back to looking lovely, we can combine it with a BBQ and everyone that could help could pop by for 30 mins to six hours anytime during the day. The money could go on bark and fencing and other things they may need.
Please reply if you're interested in helping or like to know more!
We really appreciate your ongoing support with the site and hope Neighbourly will continue to be a useful local resource for you and your neighbours.
If you ever need a hand with anything don’t hesitate to flick me an email!
With thanks,
your Neighbourly Lead
Mike & Amy Gibbs

Conservation Week has arrived, which means it's time to show your backyard some love.
There are lots of ways you can get involved. You could set up a backyard trap, participate in a community conservation event, plant a native tree or clean up a local beach.
