RSV outbreak: Virus hitting Kiwi kids
Hospitals around New Zealand have been strained this week by the growing number of babies and children with RSV symptoms.
Christchurch Hospital has been forced to treat all patients as being potentially infected with Covid-19 as the symptoms are similar.
One Canterbury toddler, Meah Radford, was fine on Friday, but four days was in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Mum Brittany Beddoes says it was the "scariest thing" she had ever experienced.

What is RSV?
- A common respiratory illness caused by a virus
-Typically mild with symptoms similar to the common cold
-Can be severe in infants and vulnerable adults who can suffer fever, severe cough and difficulty breathing

🌿 Ōtukaikino Memorial Service Changes 🌿
This year marks a change, whereby Lamb and Hayward will no longer hold the usual Memorial Service in February at Ōtukaikino “The Living Memorial”. Instead, Lamb and Hayward will now host a Memorial Weekend in the spring.
This new format will include a tree dedication, followed by optional planting activities and guided tours of the site.
Created in 1992 with the Department of Conservation, The Living Memorial is a 13-hectare native wetland where a tree is planted for every funeral service conducted by Lamb & Hayward. It remains a peaceful space of remembrance for families, with the Angel Rock continuing as the resting place for Angels from our Christmas to Remember services.
