Biketober Chch Week 1: Pedal into Spring!
Week 1 of Biketober 2018 is underway and already we've seen over a dozen different events! The first weekend cranks it up with "Pedal into Spring" on Saturday afternoon (6th) - come along to Rauora Park from 12.30pm, bring a friend or family and then choose how you want to explore town by bike. Visit the shops? Hunt down the street art? Something for the kids? There's a dozen different rides to choose from!
And if that's not enough, this weekend also sees a Build-a-bike-trailer workshop, Heathcote Express cycleway ride, social MTB rides, Meet in the Middle along the Avon-Otakaro, Women's Suffrage Ride, and much more! Don't forget too to pick a Biketober Passport and visit some of the 40 businesses for discounts and prizes. The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
