MetService has issued heavy snow warnings for much of Canterbury and Marlborough, and parts of Central Otago, from Tuesday evening until Wednesday afternoon, advising that snow will fall as low as 200 metres causing problems for travellers and farmers.
Below 200m, sleet and heavy rain may also be a problem for Christchurch and parts of Banks Peninsula on Wednesday morning.
Heavy snow may disrupt travel in affected areas and could damage trees and powerlines. Cold conditions may cause stress for livestock.

Current and former members of the club are invited to attend the anniversary weekend. The anniversary weekend begins with a Friday evening “Meet and Greet” from 7:30pm to 11pm in the club rooms. The bar will be open and nibbles provided. Saturday events include: social tennis at 1:30pm, Photographs at 4pm followed by happy hour and a dinner the club at 7pm. Sunday there will be social tennis at 10am followed by a barbeque. Registration is $15 per person.

Literacy Christchurch is a not-for-profit organisation. We have been involved in helping adults in Christchurch reach their literacy and learning goals since 1977. We run a variety of programmes, including our very successful Learner Licence courses. We'd love to provide more of these courses for adult learners in Christchurch.
On Wednesday 7 August we will be holding our first ever Quiz Night Fundraiser. Please join us for a fun evening quizzing away and be in to win awesome prizes (thank you to our many wonderful sponsors!).
And of course you will get the warm fuzzies of knowing you have made a difference to our community. Driver's Licences are essential for many jobs. Not having a licence can also be a first step on the road to getting into trouble with the authorities. It is give emphasis on the gesture, the use of basic shapes and forms to simplify the construction of the figure, utilize anatomical landmarks and render the human body in both analytical and intuitive manner. This goal is for students to be confident and expressive in drawing and designing the human figure. This course is suitable for adult students who are not offended by the sight of a nude live model.

During the closure, the Citizen & Customer Services team have done a great job providing centre services at a nearby pop-up centre in Fendalton Village. They’ll be returning to a new customer service desk which brings staff out into an open space.
All of the usual services will be available, including postal services. Facility users will also appreciate a new heating and ventilation system which will provide a much more pleasant and consistent building temperature, and the addition of several new car parks behind the library.
