Donations for Upper South Island Floods
Remember when everyone has helped us Cantabrians during our darkest days with the quakes, fires, floods, mosque shootings ?
Here is our chance to uplift spirits in the Upper South Islabd without it costing a lot of money.
The ONLY items that are being accepted at all NEW WORLD Supermarkets in Canterbury and other businesses mentioned in the attached media release are:
A bought or handmade card ( do not seal envelope) a nice message inside
A packet of lollies or multi pack or chocolate
A knitted or sewn small heart / worry worm/ hug to fit inside envelope as a forever keepsake
These items will be distributed to the most severely affected families by Lions Host Nelson and Havelock Lions Clubs.
Please support this appeal. The recipients will be receiving these in approximately 3 weeks time as a wee pick me up to let them know that others have not forgotten about them.
If schools etc want to get involved please email us at giftsofloveandstrength@gmail.com
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
