Yankee Appeal update
Hi, A tremendous thank you to all who kindly contributed donations towards the Yankee appeal which has now been filed because of your kind generosity. Thanks also to the Community Law Centre in Christchurch who devoted their time and expertise to prepare the appeal documents. Thanks to you all for posting and commenting about this important issue for our community wellbeing. I will let people know the outcome of the Appeal and I will post back when I have the facebook page running as some of you suggested. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
