A bold and dramatic redesign proposed for Cathedral Square is aimed at turning it into a series of people-friendly spaces.

Anchored by dramatic pavilions or similar with overhead shelter, the new plan would see a mix of green and paved surfaces to create a strong city heart and encourage events.
