Information shared with the reporter by the property owner suggested the tree was to be removed by an arborist, via the Waipa District Council. The Hall St property owners were happy for this work to be done by the council, as reported in the story. However it was only one section of the tree which was removed, or "pruned" (see picture). The story has been updated to reflect accurate information provided by the council and the Edition apologises for the error.
