Council backing for Mt Ruapehu gondola

Taupō District Council has invested $1 million in a luxury gondola at Whakapapa Skifield.

Mayor David Trewavas said the council had to put some money into the $25 million project in order to attract a further $10 million in loan funding from the Government's Provincial Growth Fund.
