Learn how to make ceramic fruit using 2 part plaster moulds. We'll be pressing clay into the moulds to pick up the surface textures and shape of the fruit, this is the press moulding technique. The clay fruit is removed from the moulds, we'll clean up the seams to produce life like clay fruit replicas. A variety of clays will be available to use in the workshop.
The workshop allows time to make 2 - 3 medium fruits. Fruits available to mould include: pear, apple, banana, lemon, mandarin, avocado...
After the workshop your ceramic fruit will be taken away to dry, kiln fired and ready to collect from Lisa's studio in Glenbrook the following month (pieces can be posted to you for a fee).
The workshop will take place in the Weta Workshop Room at the Franklin Art Centre
