Community Gallery - Franklin Arts Centre
Patrick is an artist from the Waikato district and lives just out of Tuakau on 4 acres. After leaving Palmerston North Boys High School he was accepted into Elam University of Fine Arts in Auckland and a course in Visual Communication and Marketing in Wellington. He accepted the latter. After a successful career in advertising he left the industry 2 years ago as an Executive Creative Director and part owner of an independent advertising agency.
Since then Patrick has returned to his two great passions, art and music, where he combined them to create a series called “A Brush with Fame”. The Works have been created on brushes using acrylics and uses iconic musicians as his subjects. Some comic book and movie characters have also been part of the series.
Patrick has always loved to collect works that draw him in and makes him smile. He hopes you enjoy the art as much as he enjoys producing them.

This raises a big question for the modern workplace. To get the best out of everyone, should employers accommodate our natural body clocks? This idea is at the heart of the four-day work week and flexible scheduling movements.
We want to hear from you:
1. When does your brain "click" into gear?
2. Would a flexible (or shortened) schedule change the way you work?

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?
What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
