SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES:
Fighting the Odds: The Marilyn Gambrell Story
Based on the true story of former parole officer Marilyn Gambrell and a colleague who set up a pioneer trial-based program in one of America's toughest high schools to help the children of incarcerated parents regain control of their own lives and not expect the same thing to happen as it did to their parents. The students had either been raped, sexually harassed and/or beaten by their own parents. Marilyn helps the students learn to fight back for one another and for themselves. To the surprise of everyone, the program works, but the administration warns the duo that it will not last unless every senior student is able to pass his or her final exams and graduate with the class. As the end of the school year approaches, Gambrell faces a crisis to save everything she believes in or lose it all.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
