‼️This CANNOT be ignored - please share with EVERYONE‼️

Fiona from Henderson

Most of us have sadly experienced that heart stopping & soul destroying moment when we have lost a loved one.
This is made 100% worse when we try to sort out the ‘messy’ particulars of the paperwork trail that we must do and also trying to find something to cling to in order to retain the memories.

Please talk with your husband, wife, son, daughter, your extended loved ones, your friends and discuss what they want you or whomever they designate, to do with their social media pages, their mobile phone, and their email and don’t forget their bank accounts.

Most people have all of their photos & videos on their social pages as well as their mobile phones.

There are important emails and messages that could be lost forever if nothing is done.

The stories we’ve read when someone has died after an illness or an accident and they couldn’t access their loved one’s mobile phone to get the photos or videos.

They are enough to make any cry every last tear in your body knowing that you will never see those precious memories again.

There can be so many un-nerving and un-necessary pains & stresses that we all go through after a loved one has passed on, that could be avoided or made easier if something so simple was in place before the unspeakable act happens.

So to (hopefully) avoid any of this, please talk to your loved ones and ask them to either give you their passwords to the various platforms, so you (or whomever they have designated) can retrieve them after they have gone.
Or, they can put them in their will so they are there after they have gone.
PLEASE MAKE A WILL!!!

Also, you can speak to your telco provider and ask them if they can save all the text messages and voice mails for you. I know that a couple of them will be more than willing to this for you, with proof of death of course.

The banks are a little bit trickier, they can be the hardest ones to deal with – so online access is something to seriously consider because without this, it could take a wee while to access any funds in your loved ones accounts, even with proof of death.

So many of us don’t think twice about this as we hope our loved ones or even ourselves will live forever, however, this is something I cannot suggest strongly enough:

PLEASE GET ALL THE PASSWORDS FOR EVERYTHING – don’t lose all those wonderful memories for ever!!

PLEASE MAKE A WILL with specific instructions and passwords to all of your accounts on social media, bank, email and especially your mobile phone.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
