Preliminary work at the Archers Rd/Coronation Rd intersection has finished and the new roundabout will be built in either early-March or during the April school holidays (dates to be confirmed). When that happens, the intersection will be closed for up to 8 days for construction.
In the meantime, you may have noticed that roundabout signs have been installed at the intersection, and that the Stop sign at the top of Archers Rd has been changed to a Give Way sign.
This is because a painted roundabout will be installed tonight (weather permitting), similar to what we've had at the Ocean View Rd/Northcote Rd intersection recently. This is a temporary measure until the real roundabout is built. Please treat it like a real roundabout.

NOTE: Photo taken before the new roundabout signs were installed.

Hi community,
I am a fosterer for Gutter kitties and have 1 kitten and a young mum available to adopt. There is Mummy cat (she is still really a kitten herself) and we called her Emmie who is believed to be 12 months old. She is very affectionate and a beautiful cat. Should be OK with other cats and kids. The other kitten still available is Robert, a little shy but the cutest boy that his gradually getting more affectionate and ok comng out of his shell. He would be more suited in a quieter home with older kids and possibly no other cats. They are both desexed and are ready for their furrever home.
Adoption fees for kittens under one year old are $150 each or $250 a pair. They come desexed, microchipped and registered, with first vaccinations (booster responsibility of new owner) and up to date with flea and worm treatments. Adoption fee covers just a portion of our costs and helps enable us to continue to rescue.

Our adoption process involves going round to the applicable foster home of those kittens you are interested in, meeting them and having a chat with the foster family. If you fall in love, would like to adopt and the foster family deems you a suitable match (terms and conditions apply), you then pay the adoption fee and fill in our adoption contract, we hold the kitten for you and you can collect a couple of days following their desex surgery. Kittens already desexed can go home sooner! We do not promise a first in first served type arrangement, there will be multiple people meeting them, as we want the best suitable forever home for our rescues which match their temperaments.

Please pm us if you would like to meet any of our rescues in this post and remember to check out our website for other beautiful babies, terrific teens and amazing adults! www.gutterkitties.co.nz...

Hi neighbours,

Auckland is back in alert level three after three new cases of Covid-19 were found in the community.

The locations of interest include LSG SkyChefs, Papatoetoe High School and Pak n Save Manukau on Cavendish Drive.

Aucklanders, including students, are asked to stay home.

Supermarkets, petrol stations and pharmacies will stay open.

Those identified as contacts or who were at the locations of interest are being asked to get tested.

The announcement, made by the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern following a Cabinet meeting on Sunday evening, came after three members of a south Auckland family – a mother, father and daughter - contracted the virus.

The mother and daughter had visited places including Back Beach, Te Rewa Rewa Bridge and Pukekura Park between February 6 and 8.

Hi South Auckland neighbours,

Papatoetoe High School is closed today and tomorrow after being named as one of three locations visited by someone who tested positive for Covid-19.

The Auckland high school has identified fewer than 50 close contacts of a student who is one of three new Covid-19 community cases.

On Sunday, Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins and Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield announced a number of locations the three new cases – a father, mother and daughter – attended in Auckland.

The daughter, a student at Papatoetoe High School, was last at school on February 10. The school will be closed for two days as a precaution and work is underway to set up a testing facility there.

School principal Vaughan Couillault said all the student’s close school contacts had been identified and were being contacted.

"We can accurately identify the days when she was infectious and at school," he said.

Couillault said there were fewer than 50 close contacts and quite a large pool of casual contacts.

Due to the school environment, it enabled "rapid track and trace", the principal said.

"We've been subbed on in the team of five million, and it's our turn to do the hard yards," Couillault said.
