Hi neighbours, shootings have led police to up their patrols. There have been three shootings in Auckland within two months. The latest one was in Ōtara where a man died after being shot and police are still looking for those responsible. A community hui was also held over the weekend to address these problems. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
