Twilight Lawn Bowls at Homai Bowling Club
Every Wednesday on the 13th, 20th and 27th November. From 5pm for a 6pm start. Play for one hour. Designed for beginners and bowlers alike. Any combination triples. All teams will have at least one non bowler. All new bowlers will be placed in a team with a club bowler so you will get all the help and coaching you will need. Bowls are provided for those who need them. Please wear flat soled shoes to protect the greens. The bar is open for refreshments and a social atmosphere is encouraged. $30 per team. $10 for a single entry. EFTPOS is available. Prizes are given at the end of the evening. We are situated at 103 Jellicoe Rd, Homai where there is plenty of off street parking. Please call Tia on 020 4137 4080 for any further information. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
