A couple of my Dietes irises' flowers opened up today, in my succulent garden out the front of my house. 😃
They were unwanted plants transplanted from someone else's garden as they had taken over there (she'd left them out on the berm for people to collect!), and they are very hardy and drought tolerant. 😃 MORE SO than the much prettier Dutch irises (with the even longer stems!) that produced a couple of flowers this year - the Dietes irises will produce even more! The ones by Pak N Save Lincoln are producing lots of flowers. 😃

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
