Friday Funny: ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ•My Dog lives like a king๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜„

Fiona from Henderson

I Just Realized Something:

โ€ข My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.
โ€ข He has his food prepared for him.
โ€ข His meals are provided at no cost to him.
โ€ข He visits the Vet once a year for his checkup and again during the year, if any medical needs arise. For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him.
โ€ข He lives in a nice neighbourhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.
โ€ข If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.
โ€ข He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.
โ€ข He receives these accommodations absolutely free.
โ€ข He is living like a king and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.
โ€ข All of his costs are picked up by others who earn a living.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks ~ MY DOG IS A POLITCIAN!!!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, thereโ€™s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need ๐Ÿช™๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿช™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship โ€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisationsโ€”like NZTAโ€”manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

Weโ€™d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
