BREAKING NEWS: NZ Unemployment Rate Rises to 5.2% (+0.1%)
Stats NZ has just released the June 2025 quarter data, showing unemployment has edged up to 5.2% โ the highest level since September 2020. Key stats:

๐ Women: 5.4%
๐ Total: 5.1%
Employment is a key driver of the economic cycle and a barometer of consumer confidence. A softening labour market increases the likelihood of interest rate cuts from the Reserve Bank as economic conditions cool.
