BREAKING NEWS: NZ Unemployment Rate Rises to 5.2% (+0.1%)

Financial Adviser, Director from adviceHQ

Stats NZ has just released the June 2025 quarter data, showing unemployment has edged up to 5.2% โ€” the highest level since September 2020. Key stats:
๐Ÿ“Š Men: 4.9%
๐Ÿ“Š Women: 5.4%
๐Ÿ“Š Total: 5.1%

Employment is a key driver of the economic cycle and a barometer of consumer confidence. A softening labour market increases the likelihood of interest rate cuts from the Reserve Bank as economic conditions cool.
NOTE: Interest rates price in future OCR moves โ€” often well in advance.

If you're feeling uncertain or want to explore your options, let's talk.
