Kudos to the Auckland Mayor Desley Simpson for fronting up and being the face of Auckland City during this time. Much better than the previous guy. She is leading the press releases, been on TV, radio, on line, even on the Council website video. Being a leader means fronting up and she is certainly doing that.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
