Awesome, driving Indie rock on East FM, this Saturday arvo
Been waiting for the right day to play one of my favourite albums of the past few years and today we’re spinning These Times by The Dream Syndicate (Anti, 2019) on this arvo’s She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time) July 30 on East FM.
The Dream Syndicate are cultured sonic Indie rockers out of Los Angeles, originally active in the 1980s, and after decades in hibernation they reformed in 2012 and have been very prolific, with Steve Wynn, the principal writer, pumping out ample songs for the band and solo works.
To celebrate their California homecoming concerts this week (oh to be there), we’re playing These Times in entirety at 5pm. Think clean, driving, guitar-led, tight psychedelic jam rock with awesome melody lines and lyrics.
We’ll also play awesome tracks released around the world over the past decade, and visit a few more familiar musical neighbourhoods, too.
The She’ll Be Right Show with PJ beams out of East FM, East Auckland’s community-powered public service radio station, on local frequencies 88.1FM and 107.1FM, nationally and globally at www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
East FM is proudly the official broadcaster for www.howick175.co.nz...
Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?

77.4% Community feedback and transparency is needed.

22.6% No. This would be impossible in practice.
Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑
Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.
We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
