Afternoon and school holiday work opportunity in Botany

Ainsley Darvell from Flying Kites - Glen Innes

• Are you playful, fun yet calm, gentle and responsible?
• Want to have a fun job supporting a 10yr old at home and in the community?
• Do you have experience or knowledge of people with autism?

We are looking for someone to support a 10yr old boy with autism and developmental delay to enjoy his afternoons after school on Wednesdays and in the school holidays. Hours are 2.30pm-3pm start time to 4.30-5pm finish on Wednesdays. School holidays would be 2 or 3 days per week 10 – 3 or 4pm. We would love someone open to some extra hours occasionally. Alternatively, if Wednesday afternoons don’t suit then once a fortnight on a Saturday would be great.

Patience, calmness, fun and energy are key to be successful. With a responsible attitude and willingness to support this nonverbal young man to develop skills. The afternoon will consist of activities such as going to the local playground, visit the library, sensory play or drawing at home. Physically fit enough to push this 10yr old in his stroller is a must and a calm and gentle nature to be able to support him when he becomes anxious. Willingness to learn his communication device (Ipad) which supports his speech and expressive language.

Have fun whilst supporting a young man to enjoy his afternoons too!

A full drivers licence and a car are essential. Give us a call today
