Our son used main mattress for 3 years and our daughter used it for nearly 1 year. The king single is soo comfortable and in great cond with only 1 mark as per pic, the trundler is not so great as u can feel the springs, but we just covered it with a thick mattress topper and comfy as. Regretfully selling as both kids now have loft beds and we have no room to store it. Pickup is in Northpark 0224993863

Hi neighbours,

Do you think primary teachers and principals should be striking? Thousands of teachers have taken industrial action on Wednesday, with dozens of rallies planned around the country. They aim to gain attention for better pay, conditions and incentives to attract new teachers. Although about 30,000 people in the profession are involved in the strike, not everyone agrees with it.

So, what are your thoughts on the strike? Do you think teachers deserve better pay? Or should they have stayed around the negotiating table for longer? Are you a teacher or parent with views on the topic? Let us know in the replies!

Hi my name is Brenda

My Husband and I are just back from Rarotonga cook Islands . On our first night there we came in contact with a beautiful dog we called BUDDY Buddy is between 1 and 2 years old and is a roaming dog .

There are a lot of roaming dogs on the Island but Buddy stood out for a few reasons

Firstly because

He has a soft beautiful nature awesome with other animals cats chickens baby chickens and roosters

he is soft and gentle with people and with small children , we saw him interacting with children allowing them to come up to him pat him and be so gentle with them .

He just wanted to be around people and became our constant companion but this will also be his undoing as the owners of the accommodation don’t want him around and don’t want guests to encourage him or feed him

If he makes a pest of himself trying to find human company he may get himself in trouble

Secondly

Buddy had been attacked by another dog and it wasn't until we spent time with him we realized that the smell was coming from him was infection , we called the SPCA who came and got him and treated his infected bite , We happily cared for him and gave him his medication and applied cream to his wound for the week we were there .

Buddy is fixed and when he had his treatment for his wound was treated for flees and worms

But is now left to his own devices to survive

Spending time with him made us realize what a special boy BUDDY is and he's not the typical roaming dog he loves the company of humans and we created a bond .

Buddy needs a forever home , not a life roaming on the Island not knowing where his next meal comes form and just existing... He is such a special dog that we would like to raise the funds to get him to NZ and find him a forever home where he can love and be loved and have a chance to be the beautiful dog that he is ..

we have 2 dogs of our own one we have had from a pup and another we recused from a shelter in NZ , we know there are lots of animals in NZ that need saving but for us BUDDY stood out and we would love the opportunity to help him ..

Dogs in Rarotonga , are picked up and euthanised. Please read the artice in the attached link.

www.cookislandsnews.com....

- and the following extract from the article "Culling is not only an inefficient strategy for dog control; it also creates a range of other issues. There are huge welfare concerns for the animals involved- in particular, how they are caught and transported and killed"

We Are in touch with the SPCA and they will assist us with Buddy and do all the work that is required their end to get him to NZ once the funds are raised (please take a moment to check out their pages and the wonderful work they do

cookislandsspca.wix.com...

The clinic that Treated Buddy and all the other Animals on the Island 🌴 and do a brilliant job

Check out their web site and all the wonderful work they do

www.tearemanu.com...

We have been advised that to bring BUDDY to NZ and his forever safe home it will cost NZ 5000.00 dollars

Thank you for taking time to read this and thank you so much if you decided to donate to help BUDDY

I will post regularly to money raised and keep everyone updated on Buddys Story

Check out his pictures and if you would like to help givealittle.co.nz...

We have found a home for Buddy we just need to get him here

thanks again

Brenda

all money will be used to rescue BUDDY and get him to NZ and his forever safe home
