I knelt down and whispered, โYouโre safe. I can see youโre really upset.โ
He kept cryingโฆ but softer. His little body started to melt in my arms.
In that moment, I realised: he wasnโt trying to make a scene โ he was overwhelmed.
And what he needed most wasnโt control or correction โ it was connection. ๐ค
Later, we talked about it. We named the feelings, and he told me, โI was mad because I really wanted that blue one.โ Simple words, but powerful honesty.
Parenting isnโt about perfection. Itโs about staying calm enough to show our children what safety feels like โ even when the world is watching. ๐ฑ
