Anyone who has been bounced from specialist to specialist would agree and at Mercy Radiology, Auckland’s imaging experts are agreeing too, leading the charge to make healthcare work for patients as well as practitioners. CEO Dr Lloyd McCann explains: ‘‘We’re trying to shift our mindset from ‘what’s the matter with you’ to ‘what matters to you’.’’ ‘‘We’ve talked about being patient-centric for decades, but still expect people to take time off work for appointments, find someone to look after their kids, etc... often it’s at the provider’s convenience rather than the patient’s.’’
In one initiative to flip the switch and focus on the customer, Mercy Radiology have teamed up with ProCare and ACC to create a new model where trained GPs can now refer patients for an MRI scan Directly. This cuts out on average 16 ‘wait’ days for the patient in a standard pathway where an MRI scan is needed. GPs now also have the right information to refer patients to the appropriate specialist in a much shorter time saving everyone on the system time and money. Dr Lloyd says that results from the initiative between ACC, ProCare and Mercy Radiology have shown that around ‘‘30 years of wait so far has been removed from the system’’. Alongside this, Mercy have created a series of ‘one-stop-shop’ clinics where patients with neck lumps, suspected kidney stones, blood in the urine or facial fractures can see all the necessary specialists, have all investigations in one single appointment and walk out with a diagnosis in 45 minutes a huge improvement from 6-10 weeks on the traditional pathway!
Access to MRI scan now in Silverdale and Far north is also important to the team. Having recently installed a new MRI machine in its Silverdale clinic, Mercy Radiology can now offer full imaging services to residents between Albany and Whangarei an area which has long been without MRI. ‘‘We believe patients are now equipped to be consumers of health care so we’re working hard to meet their needs,’’ Dr Lloyd says. Operating across Auckland, Mercy Radiology’s Silverdale practice is at Silverdale Medical Centre, 7Polarity Rise, with MRI s

I took my car to Bush Road Panelbeaters on Monday. I was asked if I wanted a "loan" car and was told it would be $50 plus GST. I suggested this was a rental rather than a loan, which they denied, but didn't tell me what the $50 was for.
When I went to pick up the "Loan" car they had the audacity to come out and make notes of the scratches and dings in the car in case I added to them. I have attached photos of the rust bucket I was "Loaned."
I had to call them when I got home because initially I hadn't noticed the broken wing mirror which they said they knew about. The car was filthy and a heap of junk. Now, I accept that courtesy cars are rarely late model, but I'd be surprised if this one would have gotten a WOF in this condition, and I'd have been better off getting a rental from elsewhere.
So, just before I picked up my car yesterday, I was told to refill the "Loan" car. I had only driven once to Glenfield and once to Takapuna, both times from Greenhithe, noting on the way to the gas station that the fuel indicator hadn't moved. After I'd put $40 of gas in the thing, I stopped. I complained to Bush Road Panelbeaters that the gas gauge was faulty, only have them tell me no one had complained. I showed them the receipt for the gas, but they didn't offer to refund the cost.
I would NEVER use this company again, and I'll be sending the bill and the photos to AMI insurance who sent me there. I'd suggest if you need a panelbeater, find another one.

But what most people overlook is monitoring the finer aspects of health on a daily basis. There are various factors like body's heart rate, sleeping patterns, Body Mass Index, Body Mass ratio, Bone Density, Muscle Ratio, Body water content, Visceral fat, Body type etc. whose monitoring is extremely critical and relevant for one to lead a wholesome healthy life.
Lenovo Smart Band Models HW01 plus come equipped with PAI:
PAI is Personal Activity Intelligence. Rather than just using steps, PAI’s revolutionary algorithm makes sense of your personal heart rate data, giving you a simple number that shows how much activity you need to live a longer, healthier life.
Dr Wisloff – a pioneer in health and exercise research, created the PAI system from the HUNT study, one of the world’s largest health studies involving more than 45,000 people over 25 years. From its research, he was able to show how much exercise people personally needed to stay healthy. By focusing on quality exercise, such as moderate-to-high intensity exercise, he found that people who kept their PAI score above 100 were more likely to live longer and stay healthier.
We strive to become a consumer-friendly and interactive eCommerce Platform providing the best in technology gadgets for health monitoring and wellness at affordable rates.
