Caution When Using Bush Road Panelbeaters
When is a loan car an actual loan car, and when is it a rental?
I took my car to Bush Road Panelbeaters on Monday. I was asked if I wanted a "loan" car and was told it would be $50 plus GST. I suggested this was a rental rather than a loan, which they denied, but didn't tell me what the $50 was for.
When I went to pick up the "Loan" car they had the audacity to come out and make notes of the scratches and dings in the car in case I added to them. I have attached photos of the rust bucket I was "Loaned."
I had to call them when I got home because initially I hadn't noticed the broken wing mirror which they said they knew about. The car was filthy and a heap of junk. Now, I accept that courtesy cars are rarely late model, but I'd be surprised if this one would have gotten a WOF in this condition, and I'd have been better off getting a rental from elsewhere.
So, just before I picked up my car yesterday, I was told to refill the "Loan" car. I had only driven once to Glenfield and once to Takapuna, both times from Greenhithe, noting on the way to the gas station that the fuel indicator hadn't moved. After I'd put $40 of gas in the thing, I stopped. I complained to Bush Road Panelbeaters that the gas gauge was faulty, only have them tell me no one had complained. I showed them the receipt for the gas, but they didn't offer to refund the cost.
I would NEVER use this company again, and I'll be sending the bill and the photos to AMI insurance who sent me there. I'd suggest if you need a panelbeater, find another one.
