U3A Mt Albert
U3A Mt Albert holds its main meetings, with guest speakers, at 10am on the third Tuesday of each month at Western Springs Garden Community Hall, 956 Great North Rd. This Tuesday (18 July) we will hold our AGM, followed by a speaker from Mercury Energy speaking about Sustainability and the Power Industry in New Zealand. Visitors are welcome.
Between main meetings we have a large number of mall interest groups operating.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
