Final days of Stand in Peace: Exploring the New Zealand Wars
Can you imagine a prison hulk (ship) in Auckland Harbour holding prisoners of war? This was the reality just 156 years ago in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Auckland Museum’s narrated experience reflects on the New Zealand Wars and invites you into the dark times in our history, examining what they might mean to us today.
Running at 10.30am daily until this Wednesday 28 October. Tickets are just $10 per person.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
