That’s how 18-year-old Asher Goddard described his 2022, as he studied hard enough to attain his goal: earn 45 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme and get into the university of his dreams.
And he did it – Goddard got the 45 points, a perfect score, putting him in a very small club indeed: the top 1% of IB students all over the world.
He was one of 18,174 students who did the diploma, and the average score was 30.91 points.
Goddard, who has graduated from Kristin School in Albany, is taking his perfect score all the way to the University of Melbourne to study physics.
Goddard and his family came to Auckland five years ago from Crested Butte, Colorado, in time for him to begin school at Kristin.

As a semi retired driving instructor I used to own one of Auckland's well known driving schools. I am now offering people my driving lessons experience for free with all the tips and tricks on how to pass a driving test. Most parents do a great job of coaching their children but don't have the tools to get up to test standard. Tips like how to navigate roundabouts and do observation points, lane changing procedures, flush medians, merging, speed zones, how and when to do the MIB - men in black procedures etc and the list goes on.
Please Note : I am trying out this new strategy to save people heaps on driving lessons and also it's a neighbourly gesture so learners can pass their test at VTNZ and avoid critical errors.

Hi, I've contacted the council and enquired about the long time missing picnic table at Mairangi bay beach area. It turns out that the council haven't replaced it (for years) because they've lost their records of ever installinga picnic table.
In told my the council representative that if we can show photographic proof that there used to be a picnic table, that will suffice for them to make arrangements for a replacement.
I've searched my old photos but no luck!
Can anybody please find a photo? Even if the table is just in the background of your photo, then that's fine!
