Amanda from Onehunga

Onehunga’s wealth of creative talent is on display for Aucklanders and visitors to our region throughout March at Toi Onehunga.

Toi Onehunga is a free pop-up gallery situated in the heart of Onehunga which showcases some of the many amazing artists who call our area home.

More than 30 artworks will be on display, ranging from paintings and photography through to ceramics and sculpture.

Always fancied yourself as an art lover? Visit Toi Onehunga to view beautiful work of all shapes and sizes, or even buy a piece of original art to take home.

Toi Onehunga includes works that explore the rich heritage of the Onehunga area, from maunga to sea, as well as subjects from further afield.

The event is curated by Auckland artist Isaac Trebilco, who has selected a diverse range of works from more than a dozen local artists.

Since 2019 Isaac has been working on a series of portraits featuring ahi kā and members of the #ProtectIhumātao campaign, which will be displayed at Toi Onehunga.

Isaac’s work also features as part of WWF-New Zealand’s ‘Whale Tale’ 2022 immersive public art trail, with his work entitled ‘Our Hands’ located near the gallery on Onehunga Mall.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
