TONIGHT 27 Feb at Toia Library 6.30pm - The Otahuhu Portage Crossing Canal
Tōia Talks presents the
ŌTĀHUHU PORTAGE CANAL RESERVE PROJECT.
This project provides us with an exciting opportunity to celebrate our heritage and revitalise this area for future generations.
Auckland Council and the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board in partnership with Mana Whenua have a vision to recreate the historic Ōtāhuhu portage route for public use.
Join our panel of Mana Whenua, Project, and Council representatives as they discuss new community-driven plans for this historic site.
This route was travelled by early Māori, and later European settlers travelling between the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours.
6.30-8.00pm
