Check out this incredible repair! Should have given it a little dust before taking the photos of the results but was too excited 😊 Made a new backrest for this Eames chair. Really fun stuff, we don't get many of these!

We asked the energy experts to breakdown the running costs of all our favourite winter warmers, so you can work out how to get the best heating bang for your buck.

And while it's no shock that firing up a 2Kw electric heater doesn't come cheap, the price of a warm bed for a toasty night's sleep might surprise you. Check out the full rundown, including electric blankets, hot showers, heated towel rails and more, here.

Deliciously Cheap Birthday Cakes

Harris Road Bakery makes the best cakes and they are so reasonably priced too! I purchased a round Banana Cake (appropriate for an 80th) and a large Chocolate Log (my favourite!) for the event, which came to approximately $30.00 for the two of them. The birthday girl was most impressed and luckily there were enough people in the Ponsonby Bowling Club that night to help us eat them. I ordered these over the phone at 10am and collected them at 4pm and they were ready on the dot. This is my favourite bakery in our local area and they ever fail to impress me with their skills and their recipes taste home made too!

Can you imagine paper being so sparse and contact between loved ones so infrequent that you'd use every last inch of paper when writing letters?

Such was the case in the early 1800s when New Zealand faced a paper famine. Letter writing was essential to keep in touch but with such limited paper available the technique of 'crossed letters' was adopted.

The writer would turn the page ninety degrees after finishing a page and add a second layer of text.

Hi neighbours,

I lost my Nissan Bluebird car keys at the mission bay beach, possibly on the berm, or the surrounding grass near the footpath opposite the restaurants while walking and running with my dog at around 6.30pm tonight. Key is square and black with Nissan logo on it, and there is large spherical blue alarm module attached. There are few other keys on there too - one is an old fashioned looking key. There is another one that says "Yale" on it.

I am wondering if there is any way this could someone be posted on the Sant Helier's/Mission bay notice board somehow - that would be incredibly appreciated.

Unfortunately I spent about an hour an a half asking the restaurants and shops there if anyone had returned the keys and retraced my steps along the berm of the beach to the rocks at the east end, and then on the grass next to the foot path opposite the shops on Tamaki drive. No luck, maybe a jogger has picket it up or it's still out there as seagull fodder!

If anyone could provide any assistance that would be highly appreciated,

Regards
Caroline
