I overpaid my bill, can I get a refund?
💸 If you overpaid your bill and your account is in credit, the supplier may refund you. Suppliers’ terms and conditions may include:
👉 the amount your account must be in credit before you can request a refund
👉 a limit on the number of refunds you can request in a 12-month period
👉 the conditions that must be met for a cash refund.
Retailers, businesses, sellers, vendors or organisations have different rules about refunds, so you should check their terms and conditions or speak to someone in their accounts department. If the supplier has to pay a transaction fee to refund you, those fees may be taken out of the amount you get back.
You could also gather all your supporting documents that prove your claim. For example, your bank statement, which highlights the overpayment, relevant invoices or a copy of your credit contract.
