Hi papatoetoe neighbours

As a parent every year it’s a bit daunting sending out children trick or treating. Mine never go on their own. But sometimes they are disappointed not many neighbours put candy out. I know not everyone does it, that’s cool... it’s for the kids. This year I thought I would ask to save time, which houses in papatoetoe are putting out candy for the kids?

My house is TOMORROW should any other parents be looking for the trick or treat houses for their kids.
We will have Halloween balloons out at the letterbox so others know.
Our address: 114 carruth road, papatoetoe. Witches and wizards ... Welcome! Beware of zombie ninjas 💀

Switch to LEDs for the climate

Andrew Caseley from Gen Less

Kahutara Primary School in Featherston is switching to LEDs. All LEDs are Gen Less bulbs as they use less energy, which ultimately helps halt climate change. If we all got on board and switched now it would make a huge difference

For the month of November, we want to raise awareness and work together to end all forms of violence including family harm, elder and child abuse, sexual assault, gang violence, and more. These victimisations affect us all and can have lasting effects that spill into our everyday lives including at work and school.

To do your part this month, perhaps consider supporting a women’s refuge or work with Police in your area to host an info night on how to identify elder or child abuse in your community. This month’s campaign also coincides with White Ribbon Day on 25 November which is an internationally celebrated day that aims to prevent violence towards women.

Let us know how you’re spreading the ‘It’s Not OK’ message in your home or in your community by tagging us in your posts + using the following hashtag so we can see what you get up to:
