Looking for donations of $1-$2 to help a mum & her young family
Hello there
I am new to this, but needed to do something to help someone very close to me, out of her current predicament. I have set up a Give a Little page for a very dear friend of mine & her young kids who have become victims of a situation that has left them homeless & with no car. If you wish to ask any questions or know more information I will reply to any messages I receive. In my head, I was hoping, that by people on-sharing my story/link that I could reach out to a certain amount of people who would be willing to part with a dollar or two, so as not to financially in-convenience them too much. Once I have reached my target amount the money will be deposited into my dear friend's account & I can give all that donated an update as to how she is doing & what a huge help this has all been.
Below is the link to my Give a Little page. If you wish to forward the link to anyone who might also be willing to donate, that would be greatly appreciated. The faster I can hit my target, the sooner I can forward it onto her & her kids:
givealittle.co.nz...
Thank you all for taking the time to read this & please, if you can, forward it onto all & any that you may know who would be interested in making the small donation.
My Very Sincere Regards
Yvonne
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.5% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
26.2% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.4% ... It is complicated
Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
-
80.6% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
19.4% No. This would be impossible in practice.
