Reclassification of reserves
Reclassification of reserves within the Ōrākei Local Board Area
Auckland Council intends to recommend to the Minister of Conservation the reclassification of certain reserve parcels under Section 24 of the Reserves Act 1977.

Any objector’s information provided to the Council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by the Council under that Act.
Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

How to avoid car break-ins and there's lots on information in this newsletter & the stats for Onehunga's crime incidents - e.g. 10 " theft ex car" - please stop leaving valuables in sight, take them with you. !!
Now ...some good news.....
On a whole, reported crime for Onehunga specifically relating to burglary and vehicle crime has trended low each month for the whole of 2025 compared to previous years with some of the lowest months on record for these offence.
