WHOLESALE MEATS DIRECT ONEHUNGA WOULD LIKE TO ASSURE OUR VALUED CUSTOMER OF THE FOLLOWING!!!!

Due to a number of messages we have received we would like to shed some light on the recent HERALD article advising of a COVID-19 positive case visiting the East Tamaki store.

A number of the Wholesale Meats Direct stores are independently owned and operated. Richard and I own both the ONEHUNGA and Albany stores. The online orders and deliveries are part of our Onehunga operation and very independent of the other stores. We were originally informed by the COVID-19 Business help line that we were allowed to operate at level 4 by being open to the public which was incorrect advice. As soon as we were notified by the Police, we closed our Onehunga and Albany stores which was on Thursday 19th August. From that point we have only been operating our online service. All staff that we employ to complete the online orders have no association to the East Tamaki Wholesale Meats Direct store.

Please be assured that we are taking every possible precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers.

We trust everyone is staying safe in their bubbles.
Kindest Regards Richard and Debbie

All regions outside of the Auckland and Northland region will move to Alert Level 3 11.59pm Tuesday August 31.

In a press conference Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirmed that Auckland and Northland will likely need to complete a further full two weeks at level 4 in order to keep the Delta variant from spreading further in the regions.

Here's what you need to know
- There will be regional boundaries, there will be no travel allowed between regions unless required for essential services.
- Boundaries maintained in the last February lockdown will be reinstated.
- Around 500 locations of interest have been identified.
- The exposure site in Warkworth is a large workplace. Ardern hoped the people of Northland will understand why they're moving with caution. Northland won't always be grouped in with Auckland.

This of course occurs every year but we're mainly home at the moment. How about if you have a tree , especially the oranges, you could pick and either bag them "free fruit help yourself" outside your front fence or maybe contact a local food bank to drop them off at their base. Perhaps if your neighbour has a tree you could ask if you could carefully pick and bag them etc for those who would welcome them. As we know some people are doing it hard and it just seems a terrible shame to watch the fruit rot on the ground.
