Beach Haven Coastal Connection Stage 1
I'm very happy to announce that the long-awaited upgrade to tracks in Shepherds Park is beginning soon π
Stage 1 of the Beach Haven Coastal Connection upgrade is scheduled to begin work on Monday 14 February and be completed by Monday 30 May 2022 (weather dependent).
Work hours will be: 7:30am-6pm Mon-Sat, with no work on Sundays or public holidays.
The work is taking place on most of the tracks throughout the bush area on the western side of the park, and this area will be completely fenced off during this time. The area is marked with a purple circle on the attached map (excluding the green track). The area in the red circle will be worked on first so that it can be reopened as soon as possible.
Stage 1 also includes an upgrade of the entrance to Hellyers Creek Reserve in the dip on Beach Haven Road.
Stage 2 of the Beach Haven Coastal Connection will be going before the Kaipatiki Local Board in March for approval. Stage 2 includes the green track on the attached map, an upgrade of the lookout area, and an upgrade of all tracks throughout Hellyers Creek Reserve around the coastline, making those tracks as step-free as possible.
If you would like more information on stage 2, please contact the project manager Leigh Radovan on (021) 275 2418 or Leigh.Radovan@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
