Tabitha needs a new home

Deborah from Birkenhead

Tabitha was my mother's cat. Mum got her from the SPCA when she was 8 weeks old. She is now 14. Mum had to go into a rest home 6 months ago and Tabitha came to live with us. Things really aren't working out that well for her as we already have 2 cats and 3 dogs of our own and one of our dogs really likes to chase her. This is not what she deserves in her senior years.

I have always believed that Tabitha is part Siamese as she is very talkative and has a small/slim build. She is classed as a domestic short hair though and her coat is tabby/tortoiseshell and white. She is a very pretty girl with dark 'eyeliner' around her eyes.

Tabitha is a slightly nervous cat who likes to stay close to home. She led a very quiet life with my mother and needs to find another quiet loving home.

Tabby's new owner needs to be someone who is happy to give her her space until she feels happy and confident with you (she won't stay under the bed forever but it might be a week or so!). Once she realises you are kind and provide the food (and treats!) she will be a loving cat, who enjoys sitting next to you on the couch, sleeping on your bed and chatting to you a lot.

Tabitha is free and comes with her bed, dirt box, food and treats.

She will go to an approved home only and you will need to be prepared to keep in touch with us, initially anyway, so we can track her progress as she settles into her new home.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
