Locum MSK Physiotherapist rola available from September 2023 to January 2024

Owner and Principal Physiotherapist from Active + Milford Physiotherapy

An exciting opportunity for a locum MSK physiotherapist has come up to join our fun, friendly, highly experienced, multidisciplinary team at Active + Milford.

The role is availabe from the beginning of September to the third week of January 2024.


We are seeking a New Zealand Registered physiotherapist to work full or part-time hours in a varied and interesting role. Our clients are motivated and educated. They present with a wide range of problems from sports injuries to chronic/complex problems. We have great relationships with local swim teams, the local triathlon club and Milford Tennis club.

Active + Milford is a fully computerised and accredited practice with our own on-site rehabilitation gym. We work in multidisciplinary teams with occupational therapists, pelvic health physiotherapist, massage therapist. We have many clients on ACC social and vocatinoal rehabilitation contracts including stay at work, training for independence, concussion and pain service.

We have fortnightly in services and mentoring with four other senior physiotherapists.

Milford on Auckland’s North Shore is a great place to work, close to the beach with great cafes. It is a stone’s throw from Auckland city, yet it still manages to maintain a village feel. Active + Milford is part of the large nationwide network of Active + practices. We provide a quality service to our well educated and motivated clients.

The right candidate will be expert in delivering evidence-based management of MSK injuries, orthopaedic rehabilitation, manual therapy and exercise prescription.
An interest and or experience in working with clients undergoing vocational rehabilitation, functional/social rehabilitation and pain management would also be an advantage.
We also see a number of athletes in our practice, so an interest the management of sports injuries and particularly in endurance sport would be an advantage.
To be considered for this role you will need to:

Possess relevant qualifications and already be a NZ-registered Physiotherapist with a current annual practicing certificate.
Hold a full, NZ driver’s license.
Have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
Be capable of working autonomously and being flexible to meet the varying needs of our clients.
Have advanced interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail.
Have well developed PC literacy, preferably having worked with Gensolve.
Possess a naturally energetic, engaging personality and client-centric focus.
