Auckland Angels at Parnell Community Centre

Put an extra present under the tree this Christmas! This festive season, The Village Square is collecting donations of food and gifts for the Auckland City Mission's "Auckland Angels" campaign. With your support, we can bring the joy of Christmas to some of our most vulnerable Aucklanders. 🎁✨

Collection Points:
📍 Find our collection trolley by the EFTPOS stand at Parnell Farmers' Market (Saturdays, 8am-12pm)
📍 Drop your donations at the reception area of Parnell Community Centre (Mon-Fri, 7.30am-6pm)

Deadline for Donations:
🗓️ Please contribute by December 9, 2023.

Food Parcel Items:
• Christmas treats (mince pies, biscuits, chocolate)
• Tinned fruit and vegetables
• Baked beans, tinned soup, tinned spaghetti
• Tinned meat and fish
• Pasta sauce, pasta, rice
• Breakfast cereal, muesli bars
• Spreads (jam, peanut butter, honey)
• Flour and sugar
• Baby food, nappies
• Toiletries (soap, shampoo, deodorant, feminine hygiene products)

Gift Ideas:
Donations of new, unwrapped gifts for children and teenagers are hugely appreciated. Please do not gift clothes as it is difficult to allocate sizes. No battery operated toys please.
• Infants: Rattles, night lights, bath toys, teething rings
• Toddlers: Bath toys, puzzles, soft toys, Duplo, pull-along toys
• Primary School: Puzzles, dress-ups, dolls/action figures, Lego, craft kits, toy cars, animal figurines
• Teenagers: Sports balls, scarfs, hats, beach towels, toiletries, gift vouchers or Prezzy cards
• Family/All Ages: Board games, books, stationery, reusable drink bottles, toiletries, gift vouchers or Prezzy cards

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
