Poll: Do you support the removal of the Balmoral noodle sculpture?

Ripu Bhatia Reporter from Central Leader

A deteriorating noodle sculpture in Balmoral will be decommissioned due to its poor state.

OnDo! was installed in 2015 by artist Seung Yul Oh as a temporary public art work, and divided public opinion at the time.

The artwork depicts noodles being pulled from the roadworks rubble.

It will be removed on September 30 as materials are deteriorating. Are you happy to see it go?

Hi Neighbourhood,

Hope everyone is well in their bubble.

I am available for tutoring in all subject areas for primary school children, I will be able to help your child excel and improve on their learning goals.
Focus could be on reading, writing or maths.
We can organise sessions online as per Covid 19 restrictions in Auckland.
I am an experienced primary school teacher who has worked with other tutoring/mentoring services(Great Potentials, Kip Mcgrath).

Please pm your interest so we can discuss further in assisting your child.

Thanks

Free Pickup of Unwanted Laptops, Laptop Chargers, and Gadgets - Usable, Old or Broken.

Jed from Mount Roskill

Help us help the indigent students in the Philippines -🇵🇭  - Like and Share our Facebook Page as Well.

Copied from Ron's Original Post

I am from the Philippines and based in Hamilton.

We are sending laptops and gadgets back home as there are a lot of students there who would like to go to school but they cannot because of Covid.

Their only chance now to study is via online learning. if you have any laptops or gadgets that could enable them to go online...everything will be very much appreciated.

If you know anyone who is just disposing their old techs... please do let them now as I have seen people just dumping their techs where in those could have been usable in the hands of a student wanting to learn.

You won't have to worry about pickups. All you have to do is put it in a box , will send you a tracking number and courier will pickup from your place.

Most of the laptops and gadgets collected will go to the Philippines and the others will be sold here to help fund the operating cost of pickups (mainly for courier, shipping and pickups).

If you also have other things that are of value that you would want to donate... we can accept them also. We will sell them and the proceeds will help us to keep operations going.

Kindly message me here or text/call Ron at 02108512849.

Maraming Salamat po! (Thank You!)

Happy National Gardening Week! 👩‍🌾🍅

The Team from Neighbourhood Support New Zealand

This year Kiwis are being encouraged to grow-an-extra-row to share with neighbours, community pantries, food banks and other local food donation agencies.

Backyard and communal edible gardens not only provide healthy, sustainable and tasty kai, they also create greater food resiliency within our hapori.
