Seagrove Aerodrome was part of an RNZAF flying training station (RNZAF Station Seagrove) established during the Second world War. The station and runways were built in 1942 and operated as a training station from that year to 1944. Seagrove was also a base for the American Marine Corps from May to June 1943. After the war the site reverted to farmland.
Back in the 1950's the tarseal runways were used for motorcycle racing. You can still pick up spent .50 calibre projectiles from the shore there. they had targets set up on the mudflats there for the aircraft to use for target practice. The area now part of a stud farm. There is a stone memorial at the end of Seagrove Rd.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just released a report revealing a rise in calls to poison helplines. This rise coincides with increased media coverage of COVID-19, as the first case was reported in the US on 19 January 2020.
Even before the current rises, concerns for children under the age of five represented the largest portion of calls. This continues to be true, as chemical exposure cases across all ages increased this year, with up to half of all calls concerning young children. The majority of the trespasses were for threatening behaviour (51), abusive behaviour (41), theft (33), graffiti tagging (14) and intoxication (nine).
Five people were trespassed from several libraries for multiple offences or where serious types of offending posed significant risk to staff at other sites. Three people were banned from all libraries for offences listed in the article below.
Despite this, an Auckland Council spokeswoman said its libraries were safe and welcoming for Aucklanders wanting to connect, read and learn, and trespass notices were issued in "rare and isolated cases, with no evident patterns". Library staff were trained in conflict awareness.
