We meet every Thursday at the YMCA Mt Albert.
6.30 to 8.30pm

Mostly all hand stitching. No previous skills needed. We can teach you running stitch and blanket stitch. Come and sit with a lovely group of people, and make a difference to a child. We provide herbal tea and biscuits.

Call Yolande if you would like to register, or if you would like to give a donation instead. We have run out of funds to buy our next round of fabrics. Or donate fabric (long rolls of polar fleece, or velvet, or wool.....no small pieces of fabric needed)

Matariki is the group of 9 stars in the galaxy known as the Pleiades star cluster and is often referred to as the 9 sisters. It marks the celebration of the Maori New Year which is a time of renewal. We will be making harakeke flax stars, retelling stories and sharing kai to eat. The storytelling will inform our Albert Eden community of the celebration of Matariki .
