You'll see sweat dripping from the furrowed foreheads of these musicians as they ring every last decibel from their trumpets, trombones, tubas, bass clarinets, tenor saxophones, cornets and pianos. Did we mention the vibraphone....? It's an exotic and atmospheric pitched percussion instrument usually found at the back of the orchestra or holding up a Henry Mancini film score. This show is a journey through what's possible with these unconventional instruments.

Sad story but I need to share in case somebody is missing their cat, today on his way home my partner noticed a man walking along Pakuranga road with a cat, it was the way he was holding the cat that caught his attention apparently he was holding the cat by its feet.
My partner said he then realised that the cat the man was holding was obviously deceased, the man walked to the bus stop between cromdale road and the fire station where he then disposed of the cat in the local bin by that bus stop. Very sad to see and hear not what I would call the appropriate thing do to, I just thought I should mention it as someone may have lost their pet and may want the choice in which to perhaps bury it.
Unfortunately not certain on the colour of the cat, possibly had black, white ,grey colouring.

Hi Neighbours

Our littlest people need your help. Poverty doesn’t start at 5, but until now there’s been no nationwide programme to help preschoolers who are hungry and cold.

KidsCan is changing that. They’re delivering raincoats, shoes and five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres. Attendance is up, and the children are happier and more settled.

"Everyone has the same meal so children don't feel like they have less," Manaia View Kindergarten teacher Kathy Belz says. "It's upholding everyone's mana.”

40 more centres are waiting for help. KidsCan, Stuff and Neighbourly have partnered up to raise enough money to support 1000 more children - and we need 400 more generous Kiwis to hold little hands. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz
