School Social Action Appeal for the SPCA

Gavin from Flat Bush

A group of Year 10 boys at Mission Heights Junior College have engaged in a social action project to try and get donations which they will take to the SPCA. With the winter months coming up all donations will be much appreciated. Please see below for more info.

* Thank you for your enquiry! That is so great that you would like to
* collect donations for the SPCA, we truly appreciate it and it goes a long
* way in helping animals in need. Unopen pet food is always something
* we accept!

* Here is a list from our website of other items that we need if you’re
* interested:
* - Cat/kitten toys (plastic is best) and fabric tunnels
* - Dog/puppy toys – tough rubber toys, such as Kongs are best
* - Rabbit/Guinea pig enrichment items, such as fleece tunnels/tiles/hay
* racks/feed balls; and toys (hard plastic baby toys work perfectly)
* - Interactive or slow feeders, and food bowls
* - Litter trays and scratching posts
* - Kids plastic climbing frames
* - Kennels
* - Collars
* - Blue shell pools
* - Old newspapers
* - Towels, sheets, duvet covers and blankets (especially polar fleece
* blankets) - but please NO duvet inners, pillows or pillow cases,
* mattresses, bean bags or electric blankets
* - Unopened pet food that we can give out to the community –
* particularly wet kitten and puppy food

* Thanks so much and let me know if you have any more questions!

If you can help or know of a business that would be interested in making a donation please message me.

THANKING YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!

Happy Tuesday neighbours, here's a riddle to get your mind going.

Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

I am beautiful, up in the sky.
I am magical, yet I cannot fly.
To some I bring luck, and to some, I bring riches.
The boy at my end does whatever he wishes.
What am I?

Poll: Should you ask before planting tall shrubs/trees near your property line?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

It may be fine now but in a few years trees can block out light or views for neighbours.

Do you think neighbours should ask before they go ahead and plant these?
