Māngere Birthing centre staff frustrated as 'siren battlers' park up
Kia ora neighbours, new parents are experiencing sleepless nights due to cars blaring loud music outside the Māngere birthing unit.
It comes after West Aucklanders spoke out about “siren battlers” blasting Celine Dion songs in the small hours of the morning. One woman said she was planning to move out over the noise.
Nga Hau Māngere Birthing Centre chief executive Chloe Wright said that a couple of weekends ago a car meet with more than 100 vehicles was hosted in the Māngere Town Centre, beside the unit. Loud music carried on throughout the night.
Since then, Wright said, a number of drivers had been showing up to the car park and having “siren battles”, as well as urinating outside the centre.
