Looking for cat rescue places that could help me out.

I have a wild cat who gave birth to kittens a few nights ago. They are 3 days old as of today.

1 of them passed away and 3 were neglected in which SPCA had helped come pick them up to keep them safe. So it's just the mom and 2 kittens left.

I've gone near the mom and she hisses. So picking her up currently is a no-go.

I've contacted several different cat rescue places requesting for help as I don't have a car and been advised to leave the wild cat to do her thing. At least until the newborns are older.

I just wanted to double check to see if there is any cat rescues that come out in the Otahuhu area and deal with taking on wildcats and newborns.

Otherwise I'll try to keep an eye on them. Its hard because I'm not rich by any means so getting cat food is hard.

Otherwise I'll wait for when the kittens are at least a little more older.

Its just hard because I don't own my home. I rent it. And I'm under a company that is strict no animals.

I have had lovely people help me already but I want to make sure I cover all bases as I'm not equipped to take on animals. Especially with my meds that keep me drowsy and sleep a lot.

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? 🛻🚨🚓

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
