School Holiday help needed

General Manager from Mairangi Arts Centre

Do you have some free time mid day during the school holidays?
We are looking for kind and caring volunteers to assist with supervising children aged 5-12 during lunch break. This role entails sitting with the children, having a chat while they eat and handing out some creative activities to do for those who are fast eaters! Afterwards, weather permitting, volunteers take the children to the field adjacent to Mairangi Arts Centre and keep an eye on them while they burn off some energy.

Requirements:
Reliable, enjoy being around children, kind, caring. No Police record.

Date periods : 25-29 September and 2-6 October

Time Commitment
Shifts start at 11.30am for approximately two hours. If you can only help one day that's fine, any assistance is appreciated.

Complimentary Milo, cookie and sandwich provided on the day for those that can assist us.

Please contact Christine at christine@mairangiarts.co.nz if you are keen to help or have any questions.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
